Happy December, friends!

After two wonderful weekends of A Christmas Gathering here in Brockway, our hearts are full and our spirits are officially in Holiday Mode. You showed up for our little farm shoppe in the sweetest ways — grabbing those early Christmas gifts, tasting holiday gelato, and gathering at the Scoop Shoppe with friends for a cozy cup of gelato. Seeing so many familiar faces (and meeting new ones!) was truly the best gift. We’re grateful beyond words for every single one of you who chose to shop small. It means more to us than you know.

The last two weeks were a whirlwind — the best kind — and now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, we’re settling into the rhythm of the season. Our fresh-cut tree from our friends at the beautiful Tuckaway Tree Farm is twinkling in the corner… well, mostly twinkling. With a very curious one-year-old toddling around, we’ve had more than a few ornaments meet an untimely end. Let’s just say the bottom third of our tree is now strictly decorative-free territory. It's so us in this season- laugh or cry, right?

Inside the house, December is in full swing: fragrant greens draped over shelves, dried oranges catching the afternoon sunlight, the elf finding new mischief each morning, lists for Santa scattered on counters, and a steady rotation of Christmas books, classic movies, and warm mugs of hot cocoa. It really is the most wonderful time of the year.

And at the Scoop Shoppe? It’s just as magical.

We’re stocked to the brim with gifts and local goodies for anyone on your list — from stocking stuffers to little treats that make someone’s day. Our gelato case is filled with all the flavors of Christmas, crafted right here from our farm-fresh dairy:

• Gingerbread — made with real molasses, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves
• Cinnamon Mascarpone Pecan — our OG favorite: rich mascarpone, warm cinnamon, and candied pecans
• Chocolate Hazelnut — tastes just like Nutella in gelato form
• Oatmeal Raisin Cookie — cream cheese gelato with house-made oatmeal cookies and vanilla-soaked raisins
• Peppermint Bark — vanilla-mint gelato with crushed candy canes and dark chocolate flakes

There truly is a flavor for everyone, and the whole shoppe is bursting with holiday cheer.

We’re open Thursday 2–9 PM, Friday 2–9 PM, Saturday & Sunday 12–9 PM, and Monday 2–9 PM, and we can’t wait to celebrate the season with you. Whether you’re picking up gifts, grabbing a pint for movie night, or stopping in after the Brockway festivities, we hope our little Scoop Shoppe adds a bit of joy to your Christmas season.

Links + finds from the week:

  • Wicked is coming to the Benedum in January (and shhh: we're so excited to gift tickets to one of our own kids!)
  • I may have already mentioned this, but this NFL Guess Who is going to be a hit for the boys on my lists!
  • We had our first snow day and of course, I made monkey bread (I find it easier than cinnamon rolls and my kids LOVE it). I use sourdough brioche if I'm planning in advance, otherwise a yeast dough works perfectly! To cut back on sugar (no one notices!) I only coat the dough with cinnamon and melted butter and finish with a sweet glaze.
  • One of my current favorite dinners. I love it with spaghetti squash or rice noodles!
  • I get as excited as my kids each Christmas when we bring out our favorite Holiday books.

From our farm to your family — thank you for making this time of year feel so special.
We can’t wait to see you soon!

xx,

Lisa
