Farewell, July.

"Cause a little bit of summer is what the whole year is all about.”

We're celebrating the last day of July by way of Butterbeer gelato for Harry Potter's birthday. If you've been around here long, you know my family's enjoyment of the Harry Potter series (the books, not the movies), so it's only fitting to return our take on Butterbeer with a gelato. We use real browned butter (you'll see and taste the delicious little butter bits) to create a butterscotch-like gelato that's so, so good. I think it's good enough to remain a classic on rotation, but for now: make sure you let me know what you think of it!

The end of July brings so much summer fun around here. We loved the first Sunday Market by Discover Brockway last Sunday and can't wait to make it a weekly Sunday afternoon ritual! Open at the Frank Varischetti football field parking lot every Sunday 3pm until 6pm through October, you'll love all the vendors and fun community! From baked goods and produce to jewelry and even fresh beef and cheese! It was such a fun experience and I know it's worth your trip to Brockway. Plus: the Scoop Shoppe is just a short walk away and scooping from noon until 10pm! Win, win.

And for another fun outing, you have to head just outside of Brookville into Corsica for Meadow and Twilight Flower Farm's you-pick fields. It's a whole-family experience and just stunningly beautiful. Plus, you'll catch us with some gourmet ice cream sandwiches over the next few weeks, stay tuned!

Our gelato case is a bright and fun one this week:

  • Wildberrry (blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, blackberries pureed into our gelato)
  • Butterbeer (real browned butter for a butterscotch flavor)
  • Chocolate Hazelnut (hazelnut butter and rich cocoa: tastes like Nutella!)
  • Raspberry Matcha (subtle matcha gelato with a raspberry swirl)
  • Buckeye (creamy peanut butter gelato with chocolate flakes)
  • Strawberry pretzel (cream cheese gelato, a strawberry puree swirl and gluten-free pretzel crumble)
  • Sea Salt Caramel
  • Vanilla bean creme anglaise (a classic vanilla)
