Oh, Hey September!

"The northern places have begun to transform with quiet, unassuming grace. The nights grow cool in the hills and a walk down the road, through the forest, or past a tangled hedgerow will reveal autumn’s early, subtle gains. Apples have begun to tumble from branches, splitting open in ditches and their bruised, tart-sweet perfume mingles with the crisp air. Sumac has begun to blush along the edges of the field as if the bees told it a risky joke. Goldenrod reigns over every field. The light has sharpened, no longer softened by June’s hazy gauze..."

Hi friends,

I think I’ve finally stopped fighting it… fall is here (or at least peeking around the corner)! The air feels cooler in the evenings, the trees along our pasture are just starting to blush with color, and the nights are coming a little quicker. I guess that means it’s time to lean in and embrace the season — and we are ready!

We’ve given the scoop shoppe a little fall makeover this weekend, and yes… that means pumpkin gelato is officially back! 🎃 We're so excited to offer locally sourced and roasted pumpkin as the base for this Autumn essential. Dusti of River Bottom Paradise in Clearfield sourced and roasted local pumpkins and the flavor is so good. This is not a fake pumpkin look-alike, this gelato is the real deal and I can't wait for you to try it! Francesca posted last night a scoop of pumpkin next to sea salt caramel for a match made in Heaven! You could also pair it with dark chocolate if chocolate/pumpkin combo is your thing. Or have it alone, and I think it will fill your pumpkin longing!

We’re also saying goodbye to summer’s peaches with a special Spiced Peach Cobbler Gelato — made with scratch-made cinnamon cake pieces and a swirl of local peach purée. It’s the perfect “bridge” between late summer and cozy fall flavors.

After scooping,  we’re headed to the Friday night lights to cheer on the Brockway Rovers, and we can’t wait. Football games, darker evenings, late-summer harvests, first soups on the stove — this is hands-down our favorite time of year here in Western PA. 🍁

Autumn in the PA Wilds means elk rut season, foliage trips, harvest festivals, and just so much excitement. Why not kick it off with a scoop (or two) of pumpkin or peach cobbler gelato and make your own fall adventure this weekend?

We’ll see you at the scoop shoppe — and out there soaking up every last bit of this gorgeous season! We're open Thursday through Monday 2pm until 9pm (Saturdays 12pm until 9pm)!

We can't wait to welcome Fall (and a scoop of pumpkin gelato) with you this weekend!
