Happy Weekend!

Happy weekend, friends.
I missed Friday this week because I had a hospital shift (yes—I’m still working part-time at our local hospital, and I don’t think I’ll ever quite let that go. The mix of it all keeps me on my toes in the best way). But don’t worry—we made sure the gelato cases at The Scoop Shoppe were full and ready for what looks like a really beautiful weekend.
Sunny skies. Temperatures in the 60s. And finally—no freezing in sight. Wooo!
Now, if you’ve been around here long enough, you know I love a good old farmer’s tale. The peeper frogs made their debut a few weeks ago, and there’s that saying that they’ll “look through glass”—or freeze—three times before spring really settles in. You hear that first hopeful peeping, then comes the cold again… and silence… and then, eventually, warmth that sticks.
Well, this year? We got four freezes (I said five, but Jesse insists I’m wrong). Either way—it felt like a lot. So I’m calling it: I am officially ready for spring.
And this weekend… it finally feels like it’s here.
We’re ready for you at The Scoop Shoppe, and the flavor case is a good one:
- Banana Split
- Cosmic Brownie
- Teaberry
- Coffee Toffee
- Peanut Butter Buckeye
- Turtle
- Vanilla Bean Crème Anglaise
We can’t wait to welcome these (peeper frog–approved) spring temperatures—and you—back to Main Street in Brockway for some farm-made gelato.
This weeks links + finds:
- This dinner is so good. I tuned down the spice for us, but we loved it.
- This little printer is so good: we use it for labels in the creamery but also: it prints b+w photos and household labels/stickers and we all love it. Bonus points: its a thermal printer so you never need ink! Use my code on Amazon to save extra 15%: LANESPRO.
- I'm planning to plant some hydrangeas this year and wonder which variety is best in PA (that stays less than 5' tall!)? And your favorite spot to purchase them?
- Have you entered our birthday flavor contest to win a free waffle cone?
- It's the start of grilling/outdoor gathering season- I just stocked up on these!
- And my favorite all-time luxury laundry detergent. The smell is so good, and its so strong that I mix it half with an unscented detergent to make it last forever.
See you soon.
xx,
Lisa
Hey Lisa
I took your course late last year for gelato. Our customers are loving it. Do you mind sharing your banana split recipe?
