Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day weekend, friends.

There’s something about this time of year that feels a little like second grade again—construction paper hearts, careful handwriting, and just a bit too much sugar before lunchtime. This week, our kids sat at the kitchen table, tongues tucked in concentration, writing each classmate’s name on candy boxes for their annual Valentine party. I couldn’t help but smile remembering the thrill of it all—more candy than anyone should eat in one sitting and a school day that felt more like celebration than curriculum.

And over at the Scoop Shoppe, we’re leaning into that same kind of joy.

The shop is dressed up for the occasion—sweet, simple, and just a little nostalgic. Our shelves are filled with small-batch treats made the old-fashioned way, without artificial dyes. You’ll find gummy candies, buttery chocolate caramels, classic Buckeyes, and my personal favorite: chocolate-covered freeze-dried cherries with that perfect sweet crunch. And just for this weekend, we’ve dipped fresh chocolate-covered strawberries—made in-house and made with love.

Of course, the farmstead gelato case might be stealing the show.

This week I went all in on a full Valentine’s lineup—rich, cozy flavors made for lingering a little longer:

  • Tiramisu – made with real mascarpone, a splash of Marsala wine, and espresso-soaked ladyfingers folded into creamy gelato.

  • Black Forest Cake – chocolate cake soaked in dark sweet cherry purée, finished with chocolate-covered cherries.

  • Chocolate-Covered Strawberry – a fresh strawberry gelato ribboned with delicate flakes of chocolate.

  • Buckeye – peanut butter gelato swirled with rich chocolate, a nod to the classic confection.

  • Raspberry Cheesecake – real raspberry compote folded into our cream cheese gelato with a buttery graham cracker crumble.

  • Teaberry- and for all of you who grew up loving that pink, minty sweetness, we made Teaberry, too. It’s bright, nostalgic, and always a conversation starter at the counter.

It’s a full and happy week at the Scoop Shoppe—one of those weeks that reminds us why we do what we do. A little sweetness, made with care, shared around a table or across a counter.
