Happy July!

"July is a picnic and a red canoe and a sunburned neck and a softball game and ice tinkling in a tall glass."

I don't know about you guys, but the months of May and June keep us holding our breath as we try to fit it all in without drowning. Then July comes with a big sigh of relief. Finally: it's summer and we can start to experience the slow, lazy days that come with the heat of summer.

Brockway's Old Fashioned Fourth of July starts us off with such a fun, lighthearted day in our small town. From the games to the parade and fireworks, we can't wait to meetup with friends and enjoy the celebration. This year, we were faced with the option of opening our Scoop Shoppe on the 4th- an "easy business decision" everyone said. But we quickly thought otherwise. As a dairy farming family, we don't get days off or vacation time, but we always do the minimum chores on the 4th of July to spend the day together. Our kids look forward to a full day without the distraction of the creamery. So our decision to close on the 4th of July was an easy one for us. We're so glad we opened an extra day to get to see everyone and serve up some seriously fun 4th flavors. But we'll never regret taking the day off to spend it with our friends and family.

We're back at our usual hours this week, but we've decided to stay open until dark during July! So our new summer hours are here:

To keep up with the summer heat, we're bringing back a delicious favorite: strawberry lemonade! Made on a whim last summer, this flavor was an instant hit! Creamy lemon gelato with a real strawberry puree swirled throughout. It's a taste of summer with fresh, ripe strawberry and lemony base. I can't wait for you all to try this one.

Have the best weekend, friends.

We're so glad you're here,

Jesse and Lisa
