Happy Friday: August 8, 2025
"Before long the days will shorten, the air will sharpen, the heavy fruits of late summer will yield to the quiet fields of November. Not yet though. August is the hinge, the threshold, the green and golden veil."

Happy Friday! I made my first zucchini bread of the season and enjoyed every single bite for breakfast this morning. And I'm sharing a new recipe with less sugar and almond flour (less carbs!) that was seriously delicious. These are always the moments of summer I wish time could stand still: the days are still long, but the nights are cooler and the August brings this overwhelm to soak in the last of summer alongside the anticipation of a new rhythm and routine. It's so bittersweet as we cross off the final summer bucket list items (float the river and climb the Fire Tower and pick the first of our zucchini!) and start to gather school supplies. It seems to come so quickly, yet take forever all at once. Strange how time works like that. Sending loving wishes to all of us in this last week of "summer".
We created a fun lineup of flavors for The Scoop Shoppe this weekend, and I think you'll all find one you love!
- Turtle: salty caramel gelato with chocolate flakes and toasted pecans (a classic: why did it take me so long to make this?!)
- Strawberry pretzel: our cheesecake gelato base with strawberry puree and crushed (gluten-free for extra crunch) pretzels
- Honey lavender: a touch of raw, local honey and lavender buds
- Creme anglaise: our classic vanilla bean
- Parent Trap: it's backk! Peanut butter gelato with crushed Oreo cookies: a fan favorite!
- Chocolate: classic, rich and dark chocolate.
