Happy Friday! 8/22/25
"Flowers are not supposed to last. Their job is to help us stay in the present. They grow, they blossom, they thrive and then they're gone. You have to be in the moment, or you'll blink and miss them."
-Drew Barrymore

That quote is such a sweet reminder to slow down and savor the moment. Next time you grab a bouquet (and psst: Meadow and Twilight Flower Farm is open for you-pick!), let it nudge you to pause and appreciate its fleeting beauty.
Every time the seasons change, I feel this little nudge to just… pause. You know that panic as though its going too fast? The weather shifts, routines get shaken up (hello, first week of school chaos!), and suddenly it feels like the world is spinning way too quickly and I can't keep up!
But then, a few quiet minutes make all the difference—watching geese fly overhead, going on a golden sunset walk with my kids, or just noticing that first cool evening breeze. Somehow, those little moments help me catch my breath and feel better about the transition.
What about you guys? How do you soak up these last summer days before autumn (or let’s be real—pumpkin season) comes in full force?
I'm trying to especially savor the last summer flavors in our creamery and bring you hints of late summer before the chaos of all-things-pumpkin take over. This week, we're excited to savor some black cherries and a last taste of wildberry lavender with the comfort of peanut butter banana and butter pecan as we transition back to school. The peanut butter banana sandwich was too hard to miss this week, as was a chance to create a Black Forest: chocolate cake with cherry! If you choose one scoop of chocolate brownie gelato and a scoop of black cherry: viola! The most delicious Black Forest flavor combo (trust me, I've already had it twice).
And with the transition of late summer comes some new Scoop Shoppe Hours! We wanted to bring some excitement to Main St on Monday's so join us for new Scoop Shoppe hours on Mondays!
Links + finds from the week:
- Our garden tomatoes are all ripening: at once! I made a big pot of chili last night and used an assortment of our garden tomatoes and it was fantastic. I'm never afraid to sub canned tomatoes for the fresh ones.
- We had a sink drain stopper become faulty and replaced with this inexpensive one and I couldn't love it more!
- My favorite greens powder and hormone-balancing vitamin drink powder by BetterDaysCo is having a summer sale! My code LANESEND10 can stack on their already 20% off sitewide sale for the best discount of the year!
- lol it's me.
Have the best weekend!
Hope to see you this weekend (and MONDAY) at the Scoop Shoppe!
xx,
Lisa
