Happy Friday 5/30/25
"I'm sorry for all the things I said when it was winter."

It's unofficially summer and phew- it feels like it's taken forever to get here. After a month of record rains and cold temperatures, I'm so glad to welcome some sunshine and vibrant green pastures! The ground is finally starting to lose it's bog. We're all so glad to get outside (without Muck boots raincoats) this weekend! Our cows are equally grateful for sunshine and lush grass. They love the daily exercise and soft, grounded naps. It feels like such a relief to get the cows out in pasture for the season! It's time for summer, friends!
As I'm sure you know by now, our days (and nights) have been engulfed in the newness and excitement of our Scoop Shoppe. While it's been the scariest venture yet, we couldn't be more excited with the amazing turnout, the sweetest compliments and the chance to meet and chat with so many lovely customers. We always wanted a way to connect people to our farm and the farm life, but this Scoop Shoppe feels so much better than we could have imagined. We felt great connecting through milk, but there is something bigger that happens when we scoop our gelato. We're reaching more people, they're sharing our story more, and the connections are growing at a speed we've never known. It's so exciting and scary and fulfilling all at once! I keep telling my friends and family "we'll let you know how it's going once we get our feet planted" and honestly, I still don't feel ready (even though it's been a whole month)! Our creamery has been turned on its head as we ration milk for gelato instead of bottling (which is all we've known) and turn from previous markets to all gelato. Either way, we're overwhelmed and grateful in the best way possible.
As we're pivoting our own farm business model, I'm imagining new ways to help share our trials and successes with other farmers. I know this farming business life can be so isolating and resources are limited for developing a direct-to-consumer dairy business. I'll be working on some new business education in the future, so let me know if that's something you're interested in!
For now, it's all things gelato! Let's take a look at this week's menu: we'll be scooping Friday, Saturday and Sunday 2pm--8pm (summer hours start next week!!)

My favorite links + finds from the week:
- One of our favorite all-weather local stops: the fish hatchery near Clear Creek State Park!
- My tried-and-true sneaker socks: they are soft and comfortable(I've tried so many with weird texture), wash well, last a long time, and have little grippers to stay on your heel. I love these socks and they're great for sneakers in warmer weather! Even my teenager steals them.
- Our favorite grilled salmon recipe.
- I have these seed-oil-free chips tortilla chips in the Scoop Shoppe. I'd love to know your thoughts! Way pricier than store-bought, but is the ingredient profile worth it to you? I'm truly curious.
- The cutest: when a service dog sits in front of you.
We can't wait to meet you at the Scoop Shoppe!
xx,
Lisa
