Happy Friday 5/16/25!

Happy Friday! Fridays around here are SO BIG now that we've opened the Scoop Shoppe. We've got tons of milk, gelato and yogurt to deliver to the Shoppe and waffle cones to get cooking before we open every Friday at 2pm. And since we've had more community support than we ever could have imagined, it's been wildly busy each day, making the weekends a blur of gelato and happiness! We're so, so grateful to our local town for supporting us and for everyone who has showed up (some multiple times) to support us and enjoy this gelato. Your words, your comments, you love means the world to us!

We're breaking into some new changes at the farm this week, too. First up: the cows are out. PHEW! We finished up a cement project we've been attempting since November and are so happy to give our cows access to pasture and the barn (for shade/a break from the heat or rain) for the summer months. Once we can get the cows outside, our chore time decreases substantially, so it's really a win-win! And we all love sitting on our porch watching the cows graze.

With the continued support of The Scoop Shoppe, we've had to make some changes to our production schedule these past few weeks. Initially, we thought we could handle both the increased gelato production and our current milking schedule. But we've found we just can't keep up. And since our Scoop Shoppe takes priority, we've had to pivot a LOT of our milk (for bottling) into gelato base. That means there isn't enough milk to go around. This has been a HARD decision for us, because each and every one of you matter to us. Whether you're drinking our milk or eating our gelato- we appreciate you. But with more time making gelato, we've also been struggling to get to Brookville and Ridgway to deliver milk, and now that we don't have as much milk, we've made the difficult decision to stop delivering milk to Elk Co Foods in Ridgway and Meatheads Market in Brookville. We hope to be back to Devil's BBQ and Angelo's Pizza in Brookville with milk pints soon, but in the meantime, we're so sorry for the inconvenience! However, we will ALWAYS have milk, milk pints, yogurt and gelato pints available for purchase at our Scoop Shoppe in Brockway! And we'll be extending our hours to better serve you here, too. We're so thankful for your understanding as we navigate our small dairy business.

This weekend, we're scooping some amazing gelato flavors:

  • Strawberry rhubarb (Real strawberries and a hint of a fresh rhubarb compote cooked with orange zest and juice: it's a sweet strawberry gelato with a subtle tart finish. I think you'll LOVE this one)
  • Butter pecan (Made only with real pecans, butter, sea salt and vanilla, yet bursting with flavor)
  • Cookies + cream (a white chocolate base to mimic Oreo filling is then filled with crushed oreo cookies)
  • Teaberry (the PA classic minty pink gelato: but ours has natural vegetable food coloring and a hint of vanilla)
  • Mocha Fudge (chocolate espresso gelato with a fudge swirl: a coffee lovers dream)
  • Creme anglaise (the classic vanilla bean: a staple!)

Have the best weekend!

We can't wait to see you at the Scoop Shoppe!

xx,

Lisa

  • Hello, farmers! I visited the Scoop Shoppe last Sunday, took a friend and WOW!!! I’ve been a fan and consumer of Lanes End for some time and have loved your products from the get-go. But your Scoop Shoppe experience was out of this world! The gelato was soooo good in a waffle cone, the energy around us was, what can I say, Fun! As we enjoyed our gelato at a table outside, the people kept coming, and coming, and coming, exciting stuff! Oh, and we got to meet a Lanes End celebrity, Molly! TGIF is now Thank God it’s Gelato Friday!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing such awesomeness to the area!
