Happy Friday

“It’s more than a job, it’s a way of life.” – Matt Ballou, Texico Jerseys
This morning, I had a discussion with Jesse about how the changes as we get older bring us full circle. Like how we're asked to mentor a new business owner or college graduate about financial planning- how did we become anyone of this kind of wisdom when we're only in our 20's?!! Apparently we're 40-something's now (insert big sigh). So the life of lots of friends and fun has been replaced with house updates, business pivots, and slow, summer nights spent fishing with our kids or sitting in my sister's garage catching up instead of searching out a fun party. Life is weird in that way, because we used to wonder why older people seemed to have "no fun". But now we're those people! And we completely get it after all: fun shifts. We live for the slow moments over dinner with family and catch-ups in the Scoop Shoppe. You guys give us so much life when we catch you at the Scoop Shoppe! It makes us realize that we need to spend more time down there. In fact, Jesse has been pondering taking on a financial counselor course to really dig into helping people plan and live out financially free lives. I know it seems silly, but we've learned so much navigating my 6-figure student loan debt and buying a house and building/running a business that I think he really has a lot to offer. So stay tuned, some Biblically sound financial advice might be in Jesse's future, if you're interested!
For now, we're still thick in the farm life (which we don't see disappearing anytime soon) and spending hours each week in the creamery coming up with new gelato flavors and treats! It was a big week for tacos and I heard you all: Biscoff cookie butter tacos were a WIN. So we made sure to restock for a perfect grab-and-go treat that's easily shared.
This weeks' gelato case is a good one, too:
- Blueberry buckle cake
- Root Beer
- Strawberry Rhubarb
- Sea Salt Caramel
- Cosmic Brownie
- Peanut Butter Marshmallow
- Coffee Chip
- Vanilla bean

Links + finds from the week:
- Do emoji's make you look old? Well, apparently we're all just following the cues of teenage girls.
- Found these boys jerseys for Alex and he's loving them (and I love a $10 price point)!
- My family's favorite new snack: these are seriously so good.
- We're trying to finish our summer movie bucket list: Parent Trap, Sandlot, Now and Then, Dirty Dancing, Father of the Bride. What other summer classics do we need to see?? (leave a comment below!)
- Come see us at Charged Ministries Event At Dubois City Park on 8/15/26 starting at 5pm! We'll have our brand new cookie sandwiches, gelato push pops, dot cakes and more!
Have the best weekend,
xx
