Happy Friday

"I could never in a hundred summers get tired of this."
–Susan Branch
Happy Friday! From the heat wave to the smokey air quality, I'm sure outdoor summer activities have been a touch difficult this past week, huh? But we're still working outside most of the days and doing our best to catch up on rest and finding the best swimming holes and even visiting the local amusement parks! Most of our kids sports have finally slowed and we're really into the slow summer days lately, which I wish I could just freeze. Early morning and evening walks are our new staple and I know there is something about a walk that is just so good for our souls. Long live summer, that's all I've got to say.
We're blessed with some awesome creamery helpers this summer who have taken over milk bottling and gelato churning and they're knocking it out of the park. And I'm loving the extra time to bake! I've started a weekly brownie for the Scoop Shoppe and you guys have loved them as much as I do. This week? Biscoff. And it's unbelievable. My classic brownie recipe is stepped up with a layer of cookie butter in the middle and a topping of cookie butter and crushed Biscoff cookies. It's seriously so good and I can't wait to get your feedback! And for the plain jane brownie lovers (I'm with you!), I made a round of classic fudge brownies, too. Grab them while they last!
Gelato flavors this week:
- Cookie Butter
- Strawberry
- Mint Oreo
- Almond Cake
- Sea Salt Caramel
- Peanut Butter Butterfinger
- Rocky Road
- Vanilla Bean
We can't wait to see you this weekend on Main Street in Brockway!

Links + finds from the week:
- The Gilmore Girls house, Lorelai and Rory's house, is for sale! But look at that price tag.
- Lots of fun new shows are out, but summer is so hard for us to spend too much time indoors. First up when the weather turns? The new Little House on the Prarie!
- Since we're back in toddler land, these waterproof baby dolls are so fun for Emily's summer play!
- My morning yogurt has had peaches and blackberries all week and I can't get enough of the combo: this crisp is on the menu!
- Our dear friends, Lynne and Doug, are opening their beautiful flower farm next week! Starting Friday, July 24 they have open hours from 5pm until dusk Wednesday through Sunday (closed Monday and Tuesday). If you haven't been to her you-pick flower farm, you need to make a trip. Trust me.
Have the best weekend!
xx,
Lisa
