Happy Friday!

Ah, the heat of summer has finally hit, and we're all loving it.
Since school let out, I've had to stop myself more than a few times from trying to over-plan and over-deliver the perfect summer experience for our kids. I think living on a working farm, with the creamery right in our front yard and a never-ending to-do list staring us in the face, adds a level of pressure I never fully understood before.
Every day on the farm comes with its own list. There's milking cows every morning, cleaning the barn, checking fences and waterers, processing and bottling milk, making yogurt and gelato base, and churning gelato. Then there's the Scoop Shoppe: ordering, payroll, stocking, cleaning, and of course, deliveries. We're still selling milk in three different towns, so it often feels like we're running from one thing to the next.
We have some reliable help that we're incredibly grateful for, but now it's up to us to let a few things go and make room to actually enjoy the summer. And honestly, I'm still working on that. I'm working on enjoying the simple things: lazy afternoons on the porch, dinners cooked over the fire, trampoline time, sprinklers, family bike rides, and all those little moments that end up becoming the memories we treasure most.
The pressure to do it all feels especially heavy when your business is at home. And while I'm deeply grateful for what we've built and incredibly proud of it, I've been thinking a lot about something Jesse and I talk about all the time: Is all of this worth it? The truth is, I don't think we can ever really know for sure. But for now, we're choosing the long, lazy summer days. More meaningful time on the porch. More phone-free moments together. More memories.
What about you? How are you trying to get the most out of your summer?
If fresh ice cream is on your list, we've definitely got you covered in that department ;) This week's flavors are fun and fruity just in time for summer:
- orange cream
- s'mores
- peanut butter Buckeye
- raspberry matcha
- sea salt caramel
- chocolate fudge brownie
- toasted coconut
- classic vanilla bean

We can't wait to see you on Main Street in Brockway for some farm fresh ice cream this summer!
Links + finds from the week:
- On a whim, I wanted to add some protein to our watermelon this week to call it a meal, and this was a WIN!
- The cutest pennant decor for summer and the 4th of July.
- I sometimes feel like I need to explain the decor in our home when someone sees it for the first time, and this article makes me feels so seen.
- Speaking of whimsy, I'm loving this cotton blouse for summer. It's timeless and classic and 100% cotton.
- This feels so (disappointingly) accurate.
Have the best weekend!
xx,
Lisa
