Happy Friday, friends!

We’re tucked under a blanket of snow here in Western PA, and honestly…it’s adding so much excitement to the Christmas season. Everything feels just a little quieter, a little cozier, and a little more magical.

This week, our family has been reading an Advent book recently gifted to us by a dear friend—All Creation Waits. It’s been such a gentle reminder of nature’s understanding of this swift end-of-year transition in the Northern Hemisphere. The animals hunker down in their own wise ways, adapting to the short days, the long (even colder) nights, and the stillness of winter.

And really—aren’t we all doing the same? Waiting on the hope that is Christmas. Waiting on a new year. On longer days. Warmer weather. And the promise of a new life that can only come from Jesus.  It’s so simple… yet so beautiful.

Our kids—animal lovers through and through—have completely taken to this nature-inspired Advent journey. We’re loving this book so much I couldn’t help but share it with you.

And as dairy farmers, we’re pretty familiar with the hunkering down part. Winter doesn’t play around. Frozen water lines in the barns (we’ve never had a freeze this early!), snow piling up faster than we can plow it, and the constant work of keeping the barn warm enough for the cows—all of it is a lot. But even in the hardest parts, we know it’s just a season. A colder one, sure… but a season that leads to brighter days.

It’s my prayer that you, too, can find hope tucked inside these winter months. No matter your circumstances, may you feel the steady promise that new life and lighter days are ahead. Merry Christmas, friends. Truly.
