Autumn Glory.

"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers." — L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
I was convinced the wet, cold summer would bring us a beautiful Autumn and alas- I'm so glad I was rights, at least for now! There really aren't skies as blue, air as crisp and sun as perfectly warm as October. We've been loving the weather and soaking up every last minute outside. Which brings us to our favorite part of the season: apples! My kids eat more than their share of apples and Jesse and I were just joking about the little apple connoisseurs we're raising. Alex can spot a snapdragon out of a mixed bag of apples in seconds. And on taste? Each of my kids recognizes the honeycrisp on the first try. And we're not strangers to apple cider, either. Because I'm telling you, there is nothing like a freshly pressed apple cider- no store bought variety can even come close. So we are loving every day our collaboration pressing cider with Keller's Greenhouse in Kersey. And it won't last forever, so make sure you swing by our Scoop Shoppe or Keller's in Kersey for the most delicious apple cider you'll ever taste. I promise. And if you're looking for bulk apples, pumpkin or squash, don't miss a trip to Keller's Greenhouse in Kersey this Autumn.
And the Autumn fun lives on at the Scoop Shoppe in the form of ice cream, too! We're back in Pumpkin Cheesecake mode this weekend and I've baked up a handful of individual pumpkin cheesecakes to take home! It's a gingersnap crust, a pumpkin cheesecake topped with a spiced caramel sauce: the perfect little treat to save for later! And classic fudge brownies are baked and ready this week, too.
We've stocked up with apples, bosc pears, apple cider and soup mixes, tallow potato chips, new PA-made beef jerky and a fresh round of our own bottled lattes! It's an Autumn show-down in the Scoop Shoppe and we can't wait to celebrate our favorite time of year with you all!
In the scoop case:
- Pumpkin Cheesecake
-
Happy Valley Blueberry Cheesecake
- Peanut Butter Banana (with a topping of candied bacon, if you like)
- Rocky Road
- Vanilla Bean Creme Anglaise
- Sea Salt Caramel
- Brookie
- Caramel Apple Crisp (made gluten-free with Purely Elizabeth's granola)

My favorite finds from the week:
- I found a pair of this popular running sneaker on sale and I can attest: they live up to the hype! I started daily walking in July and this pair of sneakers feels like such an upgrade.
- This simple, budget-friendly chili is simmering in my stove as I type. I work a few hospital shifts over the weekend, so I know I'll thank myself for doubling the batch as I enjoy lunch!
- You guys are all loving this cute jack-o-lantern decor, perfect for a porch and comes with battery-operated candles!
- The pumpkin cheesecake recipe I used (gingersnaps for the crust) this weekend!
- I've loved following along with the opening of the Village Confectionery- a cute little candy shop in Sleepy Hollow and you have to see the Halloween transformation they made!
- My favorite chunky knit sweater is on MAJOR SALE!
- My mom brought to my attention that she's saddened about my recent post about our overwhelming expenses as we opened the Scoop Shoppe from this post: but it wasn't meant to be sad! We're just sharing our journey of finding our way in the world of retail. Stay tuned!
Have the best weekend,
we're so glad you're here!
xx,
Lisa
